Whether you are a builder or a property owner, there are many complex legal issues associated with constructing or renovating a property. At Oldham Naidoo Lawyers we have extensive experience acting for many different clients in building matters, including builders, engineers, property developers, architects, surveyors, tradesmen and home owners, in both domestic and commercial building matters.
Oldham Naidoo Lawyers have acted on behalf of owners corporations and owners of apartment buildings in complex matters to recover damages in the Domestic Building List of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal regarding structural building defects and claims against insurance companies.
Oldham Naidoo Lawyers also assist trade associations and their members, including the Master Builders Association of Victoria. We have a diverse range of contacts within the building industry and can assist with wide ranging aspects of building and construction defects, including providing advice on building contracts, owners corporation issues, and insurance claims. We aim to provide our clients with cost-effective and timely resolutions to building disputes.
Daniel Oldham is an experienced practitioner in the area of building and construction law. He has delivered presentations to the Housing Industry Association and is an active member of the Building Dispute Practitioners Society.
Daniel also represents building practitioners in regulatory and disciplinary proceedings under the Building Act in the Building Commission, Building Appeals Board and the Building Practitioners Board.
Daniel has been involved in many reported decisions in VCAT including, Mardel Constructions v Sinha (2009) and Bellcon Developments v Triantafyllou (2010).
Daniel has also made successful applications to the Courts under the Building and Construction Industry Security including the reported decision of A and M Wilson v Lavandar (2009), including Metro Partitions Pty Ltd v Ichor Construction (2012) and the leading Court of Appeal decision of Pearl Hill Pty Ltd v Concorp Construction Group (Vic) Pty Ltd (2011).
